In order to drive and control the Furby with the Servo-to-go Board, we have to connect the sensors and the motor driver of the Furby to the Servo-to-go Board. Before we can connect these to the Servo-to-go Board, we have to remove the skin and the plastic case protecting the Furby. Here are the steps to dissect the Furby:
1. There is a cable tie underneath the skin of the Furby. It is located at the back of the Furby. Find the cable tie and cut it. You can now carefully remove the skin of the Furby.
2. When you are removing the skin of the Furby, you will find a small screw holding the skin to the Furby at the Furby's mouth. Unscrew it and continue to remove the skin carefully.
3. There is a sewing holding the skin to the ears of the Furby. Clip it and continue to remove the skin.
4. The skin of the Furby is glued to the case of the Furby at various locations. There are glue near the ears and above the eyes of the Furby. You have to use a little extra force to remove the skin in these locations but be careful not to tear the skin or break the ears.
5. After you have removed the skin of the Furby. you will see a black plastic case protecting the inside of the Furby. Remove the plastic case by uncrewing 6 Philips head screws holding the case. The screws are located on each side of the case.
Now, you can see the circuits inside the Furby. The next step is to understand the schematics of the Furby. The schematics of the Furby will be discussed next section.
